Excellent little restaurant! My girlfriend and I go here a lot! One of my favorite places to go in St.Albans. GREAT burgers, GREAT pancakes, AMAZING turkey rice soup! The only thing I would ask is to put the turkey rice soup on the menu instead of being a soup of the day, that way I could get it more often ;) highly recommend

A pretty awesome place to go to with a friend. The prices are reasonable and the food taste like they're made with fresh ingredients.

My girlfriend and I stopped here on our way back from a wedding weekend in Montreal. It was a welcome stop with in a really nice area with great staff. I had a great blackened bleu burger with fries and beans. The service was fast and friendly, and I'm planning on stopping back there again when we return to Canada!

I've only been here a couple of times, and not very impressive to me. There were no vegetarian options on the menu to speak of (except maybe salads?) so disappointed there. However, being pescatarian I can still eat seafood. The fried shrimp roll was alright, not too pricy but the food could be better. The second time I went I got another shrimp roll only grilled shrimp this time and the shrimp was so rubbery and had absolutely no seasoning on it whatsoever (not even salt). It was actually the worst meal I've ever ordered at a restaurant. The service is usually pretty good; the atmosphere always feels like I'm there for the senior early bird special. It's right next to a hotel, so it is a little hard to find. So many people had good things to say about this place, I was hoping it would be better than this.

Located in front of the Cadillac Motel, this relatively plain little eating spot offers a reasonable variety of basic diner options, all reasonably priced. Service is prompt and friendly. Nothing terribly great but certainly nothing terribly bad either.

Stopped here on the way home after crossing back in from Canada. Used Yelp to find somewhere quick to eat and the reviews were spot-on. From the looks of the place outside I never would have stopped but I am glad we did! Started with nacho plate (excellent). My daughter ordered the waitresses recommendation of pulled pork (very good), my son got his standard chicken fingers with fries (not the frozen fare of most restaurants), I had a perfect Cobb salad, my fiancé had a great Shrimp Caesar, and my third child had a wing basket with fries (apparently hand cut). We will be back! Service was excellent.

Always great food and great service here! Never had a bad meal! Servers are fast and efficient and food is excellent. This little restaurant is definitely a St. Albans town gem!

Great food, price and service. Recommend saving room so you can try the maple bread pudding!

Had a reservation for 4 Friday evening, 6/12, at 5:30pm. Arrived a minute or so early, were immediately taken to our fully set double table which gave us plenty of room and comfort. The young lady gave us excellent service throughout our dinner. She was a 10 across the board. The prime rib was done to perfection and came as we had ordered. The food was all excellent, portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. We all enjoyed the dinner.

We decided to try green mountain cafe because of yelp reviews, however, we almost kept driving because of the initial appearance of the establishment. It is a hole in the wall within an older motel plaza. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in though! Staff was friendly, environment was clean, and the food was standard diner fare - we enjoyed a tasty breakfast. A must try if you're in the area and looking for value in tasty comfort food.

We had a fantastic early breakfast here this morning! My husband had the Green Mountaineer (2 flap jacks, 2 eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns). The portion was VERY generous - flap jacks were delicious, and everything else was good (but needed seasoning). I had the 2-egg breakfast with bacon, toast, and home fries. Everything was cooked very well, but needed seasoning. Coffee was good, and the service was excellent. To top it off, the bill for both of us was only $16! This is, by far, the BEST breakfast we have had around here.

Fast service, good food, and good prices! What more can you ask for? Came for breakfast and both my husband and I ordered omelets.

We came with a large group for breakfast. The food was delicious, in particular the pancakes, which were hot and buttery. In true diner style, you get a ton of amazing food for a very affordable price. Service is absolutely exceptional.

I shied from Green Mountain Cafe solely because I loved The Rock and since then, every establishment that came in after didn't have what it takes to last. After seeing the parking lot filled on multiple occasions, I decided to give it a shot. For diner food, this is pretty impressive. First, the service is amazing. We showed up at 7 a.m., right when they opened and already three tables were seated, six more parties came in while we were there. The waitress was friendly, courteous, and extremely skilled at her job. Our coffee mugs were refilled before we really even needed refills. She had our order down without issue. And, she left us alone to eat. If there is one thing I hate, it is the waiter/waitress who keeps coming over every three minutes to check on you and always catch you with a mouth filled with food. The food is cheap. It's not gourmet, this is diner food, hearty, filling, and good for the soul. There is a Monday to Friday breakfast special that includes two eggs cooked your way, bacon or sausage, toast, and home fries or hash browns for $3.99. You can't beat that, even at junkier fast food joints. The menu is basic with things like pancakes, omelets, oatmeal, a la carte items, and then the specialty items. I have a childhood thing for corned beef hash, so I ordered the Vermonter ($7.99) that came with three eggs, toast, hash browns or home fries, and a huge portion of corned beef hash. It was way too much food for me, but definitely reminded me of breakfasts at home. My husband opted for their take on Eggs Benedict ($7.99) that was the English muffin, two poached eggs, thick slices of ham, and a cheddar cheese sauce in place of the hollandaise. That also came with home fries or hash browns. I only drink decaf coffee and a bitter aftertaste is often an issue. Some decaf coffees are great, others are simply too bitter for my taste. I like a smooth cup of coffee. I don't know what they serve, but the coffee was exceptional for decaf, far superior to anything Starbucks or Vermont Coffee Company has ever served me. I was able to watch the chef at work from my table. For someone working completely alone, I was amazed by how fast he kept up with orders. He didn't mess anything up. My over easy eggs were cooked to perfection and considering the fact that he had three other tables lined up, he didn't break a sweat keeping up. I'll certainly be back when I'm in the mood for diner food.

Great new little cafe/diner in an unexpected location. The staff is great, so friendly and the food ( breakfast/lunch) is solid overall. The seafood selections are a must. Plan on going back for dinner.

Just had breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. First time eating here but certainly won't be the last. Best and friendliest service I've seen in a very long time. They were very busy but our waitress checked on us several times. Others also asked if we wanted more coffee, etc. as they walked past our table. Although very busy, everything seemed to run so smoothly. They should moonlight teaching other restaurants' waitstaff how they do it. As for the food, very good also. I ordered a menu item requesting that they omit a couple of ingredients and it was done perfectly. Can't wait to try it for dinner! We don't live in St. A so we don't get to town often for dinner.
